Plastic Tree - Hide and Seek album review
January 30th 2011 07:51
I think it's been a long time I haven't write an album review because there are too many singles release these days, right? Anyway, even though this is rather an old album, I hope you enjoy this week's review.
Tracklist:
1. Itai Ao
2. Ether Note
3. Wareta Mado
4. Closet Child
5. Snow Flower
6. Hide and Seek #1
7. Trance Orange
8. Mahiru no Tsuki
9. Suisou
10. Nejimaki Neurose
11. Hide and Seek #2
Comment:
Yup, I know this is an old album (it's their first major album to be more precise) but I think I should say something how does their old album sounds back then. I have to say that the album sounds kinda "classical". After all, their first album was released in 1997 so of course it feels so nostalgic listening to this album now.
If you're so used with Ryutarou's current vocal, you will find it odd to hear his voice especially if you have heard the new version of Itai Ao, Ether Note and Mahiru no Tsuki in their fourth album, Cut.
I can only say that the rest of the songs in this album are pretty much something that not many people can get used to. After all, the songs in this album aren't melodious and will only make you feel gloomy. I wouldn't say this album is terrible because there's nothing you can do about it since this is their first album. So, I just simply give this album a miss.
Like I said, this album isn't for everybody so I wouldn't recommend this album to new fans unless you're fine with Plastic Tree's style, be it their current style or their old style. However, this album is a must-have for all Plastic Tree fans. This album is pretty rare so get it while the re-release version is still available.
