Comment:
Before I begin with the review, as usual I won't say anything about Moonlight and Mirai Iro because I've already written a review about these songs. So, you can read those reviews if you have time.
However, I need to say something for Bambi (Ammonite version). Bambi for this album is a little bit different than the single version (Bambi is the B-side song for Moonlight). Of course, for me both versions are unique but I love Ammonite version more. This is because the Ammonite version has a soft intro. I don't know how to describe this intro but I can tell you it's different than the original version.
Now, let's start off with the first song, Thirteenth Friday. Thirteenth Friday is definitely the typical Plastic Tree song with Ryutarou's low voice and mellow melody. I'm not saying that the song is boring, it's just that the song seems to have a depressing feeling. But then again, I love this song because this song is unique. It's been a long time I haven't heard this sort of song from Plastic Tree.
Taikutsu Machine is another catchy song that I love too. I don't have anything much to say about this song other than I recommend you to listen to this song.
Setsugekka reminds me of Replay because of the melody. Again, I really love this song. If you love Replay, then perhaps you may have seen this song's resemblance with Replay.
I Love You So....is pretty much a catchy song, not just the title but melody as well. This song may not be as unique as Thirteenth Friday but it's actually a catchy song for err..love song. Yes, I have to admit that the title is attractive considering that Plastic Tree never have this sort of title (or maybe I'm missing something here).
As for Area, I think there is a song that sounds similar to this song but I can't seem to recall which one. Nevertheless, I love this song. This is also same goes to Duet.
Sabishinbou is a slow song (finally a slow song) that I find it soothing. So, if you're looking for a slow song, this is one of the song that is slow. As for the two remaining track, I just have to say that I don't like it.
Overall, I'm just happy that the album really have a lot of great songs and the album isn't as short as Dona Dona. Comparing Ammonite and Dona Dona side-by-side, I have to say that Ammonite is better than Dona Dona because Ammonite has a lot of songs that I like. I don't mean to say that Dona Dona is a bad album, it's just that Dona Dona feels like it lacks something. However, I'm just glad that Ammonite seems to cover up what Dona Dona lacks.
If you haven't got this album, you should get this album fast as Plastic Tree's album seem to sell out like a hot cake. You can buy the album here:
