Comment:
Okay, this is my first LM.C album that I bought so please don't shoot me if I ever said something really ridiculous here.
Since this is my first LM.C album, I'm not surprised that the album is full with upbeat songs considering this is LM.C we're talking about. So, I start with the interludes first. In case you're wondering, I'm pretty much aware that LM.C loves to include interludes in their album and in this album, ~A Sound Odyssey~ and ~Time Warp Reel~ are the interludes. I have no sentiment against the interludes but I don't really like the interludes.
Single songs such as Ghost Heart and Punky Heart are definitely my favorite and not to mention, Days which is the B-side for Punky Heart. Truth to be told, I completely forgotten how does Days for Punky Heart sounds like but I'm so hooked with the album version. I believe that the Punky Heart version doesn't differ much but since it's already in the album, I'm practically hooked with it.
As for Edo Funk, the music has a perfect balance with the modern and traditional music. This song reminds me of Pierrot's Smiley Skeleton (since Aiji is ex-Pierrot) except for the part that Edo Funk is much more cheerful than Smiley Skeleton.
Honestly, I don't like Optimisland because the music is way too optimistic for me and it sounds like Hawaiian melody. Don't get me wrong that I hate Hawaiian melody, it's just that I'm not used with this kind of music. It's just feel weird. Other song that I'm not so fond to listen is meteorion.
I know most of you who have been to LM.C's live may have known that Bokura no Mirai is LM.C's live only song. But, now we're lucky that this song is now available in the recorded version. I have no idea how does this song sounds like until I hear this song, I think this is a great song. It's not my absolute favorite, but it's a great song, same goes to It's a Wonderful Wonder World.
Overall, I think this album is great even though it's my first LM.C album. Even though most of the tracks don't really have much impact on me during my first listen, but after a few listen, I've started to open up and get used with it. How long does it take for people to be familiarized with the album is depending on the individual, but as for me, it doesn't take that long because most of the songs are simply amazing. I used to think that LM.C songs are weird, but now they have improved a lot. This album is simply a must-have whether you're new to LM.C or you're their no.1 fans.
