Comment:
Even though the album San still lingers in my mind, I think this album isn't so bad after all. Unlike their previous album, Core, this album has a lot of koto sounds. It's not that many actually, but it's still more than their previous album. So, let's take a look at each of the song in this album.
When I listened to Paraizo, the song reminds me of Naruto soundtrack. The music for this song really creates the mood similar the one in Naruto which makes me think that the song really does makes a good introduction to this album. As for Uzu and Hoozuki, you can read my review about these songs here since there are no significant difference for the album version.
After the song Uzu, the songs have become kinda slow like more into ballad kinda song but somehow I think these songs aren't so bad after all. Speaking about Sakura Zukiyo, at first I didn't really fancy this song but when I heard this song for the second time, I think this song is really beautiful and soothing. It doesn't really leave a strong impact on me, but the calmness presented in this song was remained.
Now, this is the song that you would never heard in your entire life since this kind of song is least expected from Kagrra itself. We might be thinking that Kagrra's music are all about traditional sound but when you listened to Subarashiki Ka Na? Jinsei, you will definitely are shocked with the music. When I listened to this song for the first time, I was really shocked because the music is blended with jazz!!! Of course I would never expected this kind of mixture and least of all combining their usual style with jazz but this is totally unexpected from them. Yeah, it feels odd and I don't like this song but kudos to them for making a new kind of style.
Overall, I know they would never produced an album just like San but I think this album is still great. I miss the kind of music for San but to me, this album has already shown that they have finally gone back to their own roots after they have experimented with many kinds of style. Whether you're new to Kagrra or not, just give this album a try especially if you're looking something different than the typical visual-kei styles.
