Erdbeeren - Rend Belief single review
May 9th 2010 07:02
I can guess the first thing that will pop up on your mind right now is who are they? If you love indie visual-kei bands, than perhaps this is one of the band that you should give it a try.
Tracklist:
1. Into The Tempest
2. Rend Belief
3. EQUATION
Comment:
Before I start with the review, let me say a little bit how I came across with this band. I happened to know this band when one of the member, Fumiya (he's the drummer) followed me on Twitter. I always check my followers' profile before I decide to follow them back so I was amazed to know that he's in a band. After I checked their OHP, I immediately sent him a tweet to say that their songs were nice and we exchanged tweets after that. If you have a Twitter account, feel free to add him. If you want to know more about them, you can check their OHP here.
Now, let's move on with the review. I know it's a shame that I don't have this single so I can't really say much about the first track, Into The Tempest. I believe the first track is only the instrumental track. Correct me if I'm wrong those who have the single.
Rend Belief is what makes me hooked with the band. The song is neither slow nor upbeat but I would say it has the perfect balance of slow and upbeat. Another thing that I was surprised with this song is Louis's vocal capability. It's not that he has a special vocal but I think he has a powerful vocal for an indie band. If you have been listening to Gazette or any other bands during indie, you would have noticed that they don't really have a good vocal capability but Louis does have a good vocal capability. His voice is really loud and clear which I find it rare for a jrocker to have that kind of voice.
EQUATION on the other hand isn't really the kind of song that I like because the song sounds so normal to me. So, I don't really fancy this kind of song and I don't have anything much to talk about this song.
Overall, this single is still a good listen but too bad it's only available in Amazon Japan. I wish it's available elsewhere since Amazon doesn't accept Paypal or I didn't notice that they accept Paypal. Even if you don't feel like buying the single, at least I highly appreciate if you can leave a comment on what do you think about their songs. Even if they don't really understand English much, but it's good to hear what other people think about their songs.
