Finally, the album has arrived in my doorstep along with Gazette's latest single, Before I Decay. I'll write about Before I Decay review next week. Before I start reviewing this album, I'll be skipping the songs that I have written review before since there are no changes in these songs for this album. As MY HEART LEAPS FOR "C" is not a single but it's one of the track from their mini album, Koakuma Usagi no Koibumi to Machine Gun. Fun fact I would like to share before I begin: most of the songs in this album are written by Takuya so if you're his fan or just plain wondering what kind of composition he has, you really have to listen to this album.
The album has a very good introduction song, Let's Brand New Wave. Why I say it's a very good introduction song because this song creates an initial momentum for the whole album. This song reminds me of Lock On The New Sekai because the melody somehow is just tad similar. And guess what, this song is composed by Takuya so I bet Kanon might be the one that inspired him to create the similar melody like Lock On The New Sekai. Just like Lock On The New Sekai, Let's Brand New Wave is also very upbeat. Listening to this song makes me feel like dancing. Since I'm not going to review Natsukoi Natsu Game, just to let you know that Takuya also composed this song.
Ichigo is just like the typical An Cafe song just like Merrymaking but at the same time, this song also reminds me of SuG's song Life Love2Die. I know that SuG and An Cafe has no relation other than Osharei-kei band, but it feels similar to Life Love2Die. This is just my feeling though because the single itself has not been released yet.
Now, after a song which sounds like Merrymaking, there comes a heavy song which I think it's rare but not unusual to have - Passion. As far as I remember, An Cafe doesn't really have a song this heavy other than AROMA (obviously it's not heavy if you compare with Gazette) but I just felt that Passion has a refreshing feeling even though it's not really typical An Cafe song. I love this song a lot because it's heavy and upbeat at the same time. Another song by Takuya and kudos to him because this song rocks!
If you have been An Cafe fans for long, you may have noticed that they have Nyappy In The World sequence. However, they are no longer following the sequence an d starts fresh with Nyappy In The Parallel World. The song starts off with a slow intro which makes me shocked. We know that Nyappy In The World is indeed a happy song but I have never expected that the intro would be this mellow. My mind was blown away when suddenly the melody has turned into an upbeat tune. Yes, I was fooled with the intro but seriously, this is one happy song and I really love it very much. Again, this wonderful song is composed by Takuya.
This album also have ballad tracks which are alone (compose by Takuya) and YOU. I love these ballads but not as much as I love those upbeat songs. So these ballad songs never makes me feel so addicted to them as much as those upbeat songs. But if you're wondering whether they have ballad songs or not, alone and YOU are the answers to your burning question.
Bushidou to ifu wa shinu koto to mitsuketari makes me feel like this is An Cafe's answer to Gazette because this song is what I find one of the miracle among An Cafe's songs. Just because I love Gazette a lot, that doesn't mean that I love this song. I just find that this song is crap. Forgive me for my sarcasm but I really hate this song. This song is Gazette's typical song but obviously it doesn't suit An Cafe at all.
The song that I've been looking forward the most is the audio version of Summer Dive as it's only available in DVD. I thought that they're not going to include this song into any of their album but they finally did include this song in this album. Yes, I love Summer Dive a lot because it reminds me of the fun time during summereven though I couldn't care less about summer other than it's an upbeat song. Honestly, I'm so addicted to this song until up to the point that I've been putting this song on repeat mode.
Overall, this album is way better than Gokutama Rock Cafe and I would say this is one of their best album. Whether you're An Cafe fans or not, this album is certainly a must buy.
