An Cafe - AROMA single review
March 24th 2009 09:25
An Cafe's latest single, AROMA. This review is based on limited edition version.
Tracklist:
1. AROMA
2. Best Apart
DVD
1. AROMA pv
Comment:
When I listened to the single for the first time, AROMA sounds a bit like Kakusei Heroism ~ The Hero Without a Name. The song is nicely done but of course I'm not expecting the song to be slightly depressing. It's hard to describe the feeling but the song really does sound different compared to their other single. Even the pv is darker than their usual pv which is usually bright. This might be another phase for An Cafe but there's nothing wrong if they want their music to have variety. Overall, I think the song itself is fantastic.
As for Best Apart, it's the opposite of AROMA where the music is very laid back and it's not as depressing as AROMA. Personally, I'm not attracted to this song at all. I do love the laid back music, but somehow I find this song blunt.
Overall, the single is great but I still feel something is lacking. Maybe it has something to do with my perception that An Cafe's single supposed to be filled with happiness. Again, I didn't find anything wrong with having a depressing music and I still love the single despite of that. What I want to emphasize here is that it's a good single but I rather wait for the album to come out instead since the B-side track doesn't attract me that much.
Anyway, here's the pv:
