Alice Nine - Senkou single review
October 31st 2010 05:39
I know I haven't been writing here for so long so don't get the wrong idea that I'm abandoning this blog. There are so many things going on so I just can't find the time to write here. Anyway, you'll get massive updates from this blog sooner or later. So, thanks again for reading this blog.
This may no longer a new single since Alice Nine has announced their new single called Stargazer. This review is based on regular edition type A.
Tracklist:
1. Senkou
2. Le Grand Bleu
3. Solar Eclipse
4. Namida no Aru Basho
Comment:
Let's just forget Shou with the shiny, glittering katana that he holds and their overall look. Senkou somehow has the element like Onimusha (I can't think of any) but to be honest, I don't like Senkou. It's just sounds plain to me and it didn't create a long, lasting impression to me. So, yes, I would give Senkou a miss.
I am very happy that the other songs such as Le Grand Bleu is amazing. I know a lot of people love this song but I didn't get hooked with this song when I listened to it at first. I have to admit that the guitar for this song is very heavy, which is something I don't expect much from Alice Nine. Nevertheless, this is an absolutely wonderful song. Even though this song doesn't swept off my feet at first, but after listening to it once again, this song has grown on me.
Solar Eclipse is the song that got me so hooked the most with this single. Even though the song isn't as heavy as Le Grand Bleu, but it is catchy enough. It's not that slow and yet not that heavy, so I would say that the song itself is pretty balance. Le Grand Bleu is one of the song that I recommend you should listen but Solar Eclipse tops my choice the most.
If you like ballad song, then Namida no Aru Basho is something that would be great for you. I don't like this kind of song, so this is another song that I would give it a miss as well.
Overall, I never put much expectation on Senkou and even least expectation on the b-side tracks. Surprisingly enough, I just find that the b-side tracks are way much better than the main track (Senkou) itself. If you manage to get Senkou with the pv and making of, good for you. Even if you don't have the pv, it's okay because the b-side tracks are definitely one of the reason why this single is still worth getting. Buy this single if you find that you love the b-side tracks.
